Latex Paint

Latex paint is not a hazardous material.  It can be disposed of with your regular trash when the paint is dry.  If the paint is still liquid, open the top and allow the paint to air dry.  To speed up the drying process, you may add sand, kitty litter or paint hardener to the paint.

VSQG Disposal

Very small quantity generators can safely dispose of their hazardous materials at the Tri-County Clean Sweep in April 2010.  Click here for more information.

If these dates and times do not work for you, please contact Brown County Hazardous Waste Facility for your disposal needs.

Disposal Alternatives

If the collection dates and times do not work for you or for out of season disposal, you may bring household hazardous waste products free of charge to be disposed of properly at either the Brown County Hazardous Waste Facility or the Waupaca Processing and Transfer Facility free of charge.

Reasons to Participate

When disposed of improperly household hazardous wastes can threaten the quality of our drinking water, increase the threat of algae bloom and threaten the safety of sanitation workers (if discarded in the trash, these items may ignite or explode in the collection truck).

Household hazardous waste left around the house and garage pose an accidental poison risk to children and pets.

Since the items brought to a Clean Sweep are properly disposed of by Outagamie County's Solid Waste Department, you can feel good that you have kept these items from entering the landfill or contaminating our water supply.
