Question of the Month:  Should plastic bottle caps be removed before recycling and why?

Answer: Yes, removing bottle caps is a good recycling habit.  If liquids are left in the bottle, the specialized machinery cannot properly sort the plastic and the bottle could end up in the trash instead of being recycled.

Purchase products compatible with your neighborhood recycling programs.  Consider what you are buying and where it will ultimately end up.
