RECYCLE USED ENGINE OIL AND ANTIFREEZE

Every 8 months, nearly 11 million gallons of oil run off our streets and driveways into our waterways - the equivalent of the Exxon Valdez oil spill - America's Living Oceans

Did you know if you recycle just two gallons of used oil it can generate enough electricity to run the average household for almost 24 hours?

Motor oil doesn’t wear out – it just gets dirty.  Used oil brought to a collection site can be reprocessed and used as an energy source or re-refined for use as a recycled oil product.

Outagamie County residents can recycle used engine oil

 ANTIFREEZE

There are economic, environmental, and legal reasons for recycling waste antifreeze rather than dumping it.

Before you change the antifreeze, determine if it really needs to be changed out by testing whether characteristics such as freeze protection and corrosion inhibition are adequate.  Don’t change antifreeze unless necessary, to avoid creating a waste product.

Check with your local waste water treatment plant or it can be recycled by bringing it to the Household Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep Program or one of the sites below:
